Spruce – Getting to know softwood
Spruce is beautiful softwood timber that is imported directly from Europe by ITM quite regularly. They specialise in laminated spruce planks, cross-laminated spruce beams, finger-jointed laminated spruce beams, rough sawn spruce beams, spruce tongue and groove, three-layered spruce boards and of course spruce solid timber.
ITM Timber Merchants was the very first company to bring in these special spruce products and then – like a usual business market – the competitors soon followed. However, they are still the only company that stocks a variety of sizes of the laminated spruce beams.
Thomas Marktl – as many of you now know – loves to do research on the best companies overseas and import the best quality timber. This is what he did with all of the spruce products. Most of our suppliers overseas has been personally visited by Thomas, therefore ensuring best quality.
Spruce is among the most common trees in Germany as one third of Germany’s forestland is covered by it and mainly grows in the northern-most part of the hemisphere. Spruce solid timber is used regularly for plywood, carpentry, interior construction, furniture applications, flooring, ceiling and more.
ITM has an incredible team that happily assists clients to choose the best timber for their purpose. This has come from years of experience working in the company.
